Dobszay Gergely:
Homogén ház és burkolt tetők 2. rész - Épületszerkezeti megoldások és tervezési elvek

Kivonat

A common trait of buildings with a „homogenous” appearance, as introduced in the previous part of this article, is that they cannot be described by regular building construction terminology or methodology. Through the introduction of possible layer structures and the analysis of some specially selected details, I aim to show the unique behavior of these constructions. We may state that, the collective term „cladded roof” is, indeed the definition a new building structure group. Adhesive applied or mechanically fixed natural stone, on-site or pre-fabricated concrete, ceramics, other small or large segment covered, wood cladded, perforated metallic sheet covered roof surfaces or similar roof surfaces covered by nets, sheets, amassed materials such as earth and as well as inclined green roofs with vegetation - all require distinct structural solutions. The example of hidden gutters or cladded roof integrated ceiling lights are adequate examples to show that these buildings require new, unique and innovative solutions. Finally, on the basis of current experience, I will list a few design principles and suggestions – in the areas of materials selection, fixations, joinings, multi-level water outlets and of general building physics – that will help designers with the making of long-lasting and reliable cladded roofs.
