An integrated periodic timetable could greatly contribute to the optimum development of the railway infrastructure network, such as to allocate meeting points of the trains, determine line speed, etc. In case of a single track line, the crossing points of opposite running trains can be determined. This paper deals with the basic concepts of an integrated periodic timetable and then an example is worked out in Eastern Hungary. A timetable has been worked out for three main lines and the most important technical parameters for the development have been determined that are necessary for this timetable.
