Contemporary standardized fenestration heat transfer models were developed for modern single-skin windows. Historical
double-skin box type windows, however, differ significantly from windows of contemporary manufacture. These differences,
highlighted in the article, can cast doubt on the validity of standard models for calculating historic double-skin
windows. This article aims to establish the accuracy of standard models by comparing standard and complex CFD/conjugate
heat transfer simulation results.
